Life Saving Award September 2023

Community Service Officer Wilson was patrolling Community Park as she does every day, and always makes time to talk with the neighborhood kids. During her checks, she located a young girl looking very upset and CSO Wilson asked her if she was okay. They both talked at length and the young girl decided she was going to head home. Unbeknown to CSO Wilson this young girl was writing her final goodbyes to her parents. If it wasn’t for CSO Wilson’s intervention and sharing a private conversation on life’s experiences and building trust this girl might have never made it home that night. Instead, she went home and shared what she was feeling with her parents so they as a family could address the situation as a family.
